flash What's the superpower of this app?

The Workflow Date Calculator app is a powerful tool that simplifies the management of both past and future dates. By automatically populating properties with dates based on a selected date property, this app streamlines the process, making it easy to plan ahead or analyze historical data. Whether you need to set expiration/renewal dates for services based on closed-won deals or track important milestones, the Workflow Date Calculator app is a flexible solution for automating date calculations.

1. Go to workflow and create an automation based on standard HubSpot objects. (contacts, companies, deals, tickets). A new workflow action will be available for selection within the "Connected apps" section.

2. The Workflow action enables users to set a date, whether in the future or in the past based on a selected date property.
    • in the “Property to read” field, select the property with the "origin" date
    • in the “Target object” field, insert the object type to populate
(if the object type is not the same as the workflow’s trigger, the value will be applied to all the associated objects)
    • In the “Property to set” field, select the property that will be populated with the date value, whether it's in the future or the past. You can either choose the origin date property or another one.
    • In the "Amount to add" field, insert a number to calculate the final value. To set past dates, simply precede the number with the minus symbol "-" (e.g. -30).
    • In the “Unit to add” field, choose the unit to calculate the final value between “days, weeks or months".

Use case: Should you sell services with expiration/renewal dates, you can utilize the app to set a date in the future, based, for example, on the closed-won date of a deal.

flash Troubleshooting

The “Property to set” must be a date property.
If not, the Workflow returns an error and the property value will not be updated.
